Nestled in the hills of Windham County, Vermont. . . live six llamas. Within this site you will spend time viewing pictures of the farm and the products made here at the farm.
Summer 2008
Shearing is all done and well the llamas have started there own blog. I was very shocked - I had no idea they even knew how to turn the computer on let alone type! We just passed our 6th llama anniversary! July 5 is my 5 year spinniversary as well. Our shortest anniversary so far this summer is our one day anniversary that we are now officially ready to take orders for our Llama Llama Poo Poo and have had a first sale. Here is our proud bag of gourmet poo before it left the farm!

On June 7, I planted our vegetable garden from seed. I took some photos today but it was so sunny that they are a bit wiped out. I'll try to get some when it is cloudy so you can see first hand the power of the poo!
In July we are the featured fiber for the Maybelle Farm "Fiber of the Month Club." You can purchase just the months that you want or for a bargin you can get all 12 months. The previous months fibers I believe are still available as Kathleen purhases extra. Use the link above to contact her for more information. The fibers range between 4 and 6 ounces depending on the animal. I've had a chance to play with the Shetland, Cormo, and Alpaca all so very yummy! I sent over some of Bailey's brown and some solar dyed Milagra - which is a treat as I never sold any of that on my shops as it is so special, previously I had just been gifting it to friends.. It was dyed for my project in Jenny Bakriges' Summer 2004 Spin Off Article on Solar Dyeing. It is a beautiful caramel color after all the left over fibers were blended together during the dehairing process. I have just a couple ounces of that left and LFB is going to video tape a demonstration on how to spin from a cloud that we will put into this website soon. We are most appreciative as being asked to be part of this wonderful program. All the fibers are from farms in Vermont and New Hampshire. Our guild also has a fiber project and we get new fibers every 6 months or so but in smaller quantities. This month is Avocado a delightful Shetland also from Maybelle Farm. Today I washed my portion and I've been photographing all the steps of the processing. That will either end up here or on the River Spinners website. I've updated my etsy shop and the link is on the Fiber For You page.
Llamas and dogs are doing well. I get in trouble when I take down this picture of Cider and Paco. When we are done with our work out room remodel this fall I will take a new shot of them on the treadmill - it is not often that they actually walk together as Cider is much faster than Paco so this was a rare shot.

Happy Summer!
